High School Leaders

Now entering its second year, the Chickadeeds High School Leaders Program is a multi-year commitment designed to support and inspire students through their years of high school.

This one-of-a-kind initiative invites students and their guardians to team up and make a lasting impact. Each year, participants commit to a goal of 50 hours of community service, combining group-based volunteer work with self-led projects that reflect their unique passions and values.

Chickadeeds curates meaningful, interest-based service opportunities just for this group—and encourages students to take the lead in dreaming up and launching their own projects.

Through this program, students will:

  • Grow into confident, compassionate community leaders

  • Develop valuable life and leadership skills

  • Forge meaningful connections with local nonprofit organizations

At the end of each program year, students will be honored with a Chickadeeds High School Leader Certificate and recognized on the Young Maine Volunteer Roll of Honor—a meaningful credential for college applications, personal growth, and professional development.

A $25 annual registration fee supports each cohort’s senior-year capstone project, developed in partnership with the Maine Community Fund.

Applications for the 2025-26 school year have closed.
